Service and Learning Trips

The Training Centre service and learning trips create balanced learners by combining engaging adventurous activities with service projects that give back to communities and ecosystems.

The Training Centre has developed a range of trips working with partner organisations where the primary focus is the conservation of an environment that participants have enjoyed whilst having an adventure.

These trips can be tailored to your needs but participants may combine trail conservation with mountain biking, reducing marine plastic with surfing, or data collection for citizen science projects with Kayaking.

Contact us to discuss your requirements for service and learning trips or see some examples of service and learning trips below.

Operation Forest Stewards was a service learning program that was designed to mitigate the risk of wildfires exacerbated by climate change.

Students took part in a conservation project where they removed more fire prone invasive species, planted native species, and cleared vegetation form the woodland floor interspersed with a range of team challenges based on outdoor activities such as Kayaking, Archery, and Hiking, and had a lot of fun along the way.

This program is typical of the programs we run which combine education, adventure and service providing students and teachers with memories that will last a lifetime.
